Dr. Eric Jackson

So the deal is done! Eric has gone and sold the building… But he hasn’t left. In April, after 32 years of owning and operating Wellness House the thrill of being a boss waned. Catherine (my better half) and I had decided that working part time and spending more of our family time with kids, grands., and seeing the world made a lot of sense. For many years we’ve been planning a succession. And by God’s grace, Peter Wise was looking for an opportunity to grow a practice and settle down. He had come to Canada following a young woman.

And the rest is history. His practice style and mine are very similar and he has a real interest in continuing the pattern of care we’ve been delivering.

So three days a week (Monday and Thursday afternoon and evening and Tuesday morning) I will be at your service. Thankfully Dr Wise and Dr Fournier will be working at their normal pace and can take care of those whose schedules don’t correspond to mine. And I encourage that. They are both caring expert practitioners who know their stuff and will manage our patients in the same way I would. And when you do see me in the office, while you are seeing one of the other docs, don’t be too sad for me. Yes I do.feel a little tug, that I can’t be delivering your care…but that’s just the way it has to be. If succession is going to work, it has to begin somewhere. And this is where the rubber hits the road.

Thanks for the ride so far. It’s been a blast! Looking forward to more of the same…just less of it!

Eric Jackson DC

Eric grew up in Toronto and attended McMaster University for an honours degree in Life Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He married Catherine the weekend before starting chiropractic college at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto. She paid the freight!

After graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1983, and with their first child, they moved to Ottawa to start practice. Eric started a post-graduate fellowship in 1992 and became a Fellow of the College of Chiropractic Physical and Occupational Rehabilitation.

He is one of only two such specialists in Eastern Ontario. To add to the treatment options available, Eric studied acupuncture and graduated from the Acupuncture Council of Ontario/CMCC program in 2000. Eric became a postgraduate lecturer in acupuncture in 2001 at CMCC. Eric furthered his acupuncture training in 2012 with a certificate course in IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation) for Myofascial and Neuropathic Pain.

Dr. Jackson’s practice is primarily focused on general neuromusculoskeletal (nerve, muscle, bone and joint) problems experienced by 80% of the population. Having treated over 15000 patients in his 30 years of practice, Eric is an expert in identifying and treating these issues. As a Rehabilitation Specialist he is often asked to provide expert opinion in medico-legal matters. Since 1994 Dr. Jackson has completed over 6000 such evaluations.

In addition to the practice, Eric has been involved in community, provincial and federal boards including Westboro Kiwanis, Christian Businessmen’s Committee, Ontario Chiropractic Association, Canadian Chiropractic Association and Canadian Chiropractic Research Foundation.
